Domestic abuse support service Safenet have unveiled a fresh new brand, reflecting their values, heritage and the voices of the people they support.
The rebrand, developed in collaboration with Liverpool-based design agency Aurora, marks a significant step forward for the feminist organisation, which has been helping women, children and men escape domestic abuse for nearly 50 years.
Aurora, a proudly female-founded agency, shares Safenet’s commitment to gender equality and brought this shared purpose into the heart of the brand work.
Helen Gauder, Managing Director of Safenet, said: “Working with survivors to create an outstanding Safenet brand has ensured credible, engaging and accessible design”.
The new identity features a warm, accessible colour palette, trauma sensitive real-life photography, and confident modern typography – all designed to feel welcoming, safe and empowering. The visual identity is bright and optimistic while remaining sensitive to the experiences of those who use Safenet’s services.
The rebrand coincides with the upcoming launch of a new website, designed with input from survivors to make sure it’s easy to navigate and inclusive to all.
When launched, the new website will showcase Safenet’s updated look while continuing to provide vital information and access to support – more updates on the launch of Safenet’s will follow.
Helen added: “Survivor input has shaped the content and functions of our new, re-branded website (launching soon), which will help us reach further, connect more effectively and keep more survivors safe from harm.”
Safenet are lead provider for DASSL (Domestic Abuse Support Services Lancashire), and sole provider for domestic abuse services in Oldham and Bury.
Safenet provides refuge, safe accommodation, community outreach and education initiatives across the North West of England. They not only support individuals through recovery, but also work to raise awareness of domestic abuse, challenge gender inequality, and campaign for lasting change.
This rebrand represents a renewed commitment to Safenet’s mission: empowering people to live free from abuse – with safety, dignity and hope.
