Our Big Give campaign is now open to public donations

We are taking part in this year’s Big Give Christmas challenge to raise money for our new project ‘Safe Minds for Domestic Abuse Survivors’ which provides specialist trauma-informed therapy sessions to support Domestic Abuse Survivors.

After receiving £1700 from pledges from local businesses, match funding from The Big Give and  ‘Women & Girls  match fund’ gave us a total of £10,000. We now have a target of £10,000 from the public funding campaign of the Big Give by midday on 6th December.

Our public campaign is now live and any donation you make will be DOUBLED by our match funding pledgers & The Big Give. If we achieve the £10,000 we can raise £20,000 with our match funding – which would make such a difference to our services supporting women & children.

Since the pandemic we have seen an escalating demand for services and the severity and complexity of abuse experienced. Our residents in our refuges are dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse, homelessness and severe financial constraints while trying to manage the effects this is having on them and their children’s mental health. All counselling services are heavily oversubscribed.

We have identified the need for specialist therapy sessions to support Domestic Abuse Survivors recover from their traumatic experiences. Trauma-informed therapy will help women acknowledge and deal with their abuse, so they are less likely to be affected by ‘triggers’ on their recovery journey.

Every donation is worth twice the impact! You can donate here: https://donate.thebiggive.org.uk/campaign/a056900002M4zRlAAJ

Thank you so much from the staff and residents at SafeNet & Happy Christmas!
