Domestic Abuse Support Service Lancashire launched at celebratory event

To celebrate the official launch of Lancashire’s domestic abuse support service, Lancashire County Council hosted an event to introduce DASSL to local stakeholders.

The event gave attendees an insight into the new service through presentations, networking and Q&A sessions, each showing the pathway towards a safer future for survivors in Lancashire.

Miranda Hawtrey, Domestic Abuse Development Lead at Safenet, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and supported this important event. Your presence helps raise awareness and create a stronger community for those affected by domestic abuse.

“Together, we can make a difference and continue working towards a safer and more supportive future for survivors of domestic abuse in Lancashire.

“A special thank you to our speakers, partners, and everyone who contributes to deliver DASSL high quality and compassionate services”.

DASSL provides immediate support for adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. Funded by Lancashire County Council, the service offers support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The DASSL services is made up of local agencies from across Lancashire, including Safenet, HARV, Key, FCWA, The Liberty Centre, Be Free and Loving Me.

Firoza Mohmed, Chief Executive Officer at Humraaz, attended the event. Discussing the launch on LinkedIn, she said: “Congratulations to all the partners of Domestic Abuse Support Service Lancashire (DASSL) and Lancashire County Council for creating a seamless service for all survivors of abuse. It was great to catch with colleagues from across the sector”.
