On Sunday 28 June, three determined fundraisers will take on one of the UK’s most demanding physical challenges in aid of Safenet.
Paris, Rebecca and Olivia are tackling the 12km Total Warrior challenge in Leeds, taking on 25 tough obstacles to raise money for people affected by domestic abuse and help create safer futures.
The course combines a demanding mix of physical and mental challenges, testing strength, endurance and courage. Participants will climb steep structures, crawl through mud, leap from heights and navigate water crossings, all while keeping pace across the course.
They will also face signature obstacles such as the Human BBQ, which involves jumping over 2 feet high flames, the Cement Mixer, a spinning tunnel designed to throw competitors off balance, and The Shocker, where electric wires add an extra layer of intensity, making for a fast-paced, muddy and adrenaline-filled experience from start to finish.
All three participants work for Safenet, making the challenge especially meaningful. They see first-hand the difference that safe, compassionate and survivor-led support can make for people experiencing domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse affects 1 in 5 adults and can take many forms, from physical and emotional abuse to controlling or coercive behaviour. Access to specialist, trauma-informed support can be life-changing.

Funds raised through the challenge will go towards practical safety items, including:
- Personal attack alarms to increase confidence outside the home
- Doorstops to delay access in emergencies and buy crucial time to seek help
- Window and door alarms to alert when a property is accessed
- Letterbox locks for additional home security
Speaking ahead of the challenge, the trio highlighted the importance of pushing through such a physically demanding event for a cause that makes a real difference.
They said: “We all know this isn’t going to be an easy challenge however this is nothing compared to what domestic abuse survivors go through every day.
“We hope that raising this money will help survivors feel that little bit safer in their homes or in the community and we will be extremely grateful for anything you can donate towards this cause.”
Every donation, share or message of support will help make a real difference in supporting safer, stronger futures for survivors.
