DASSL celebrates one year milestone of domestic abuse services in Lancashire

This month, we proudly mark one year of DASSL – Domestic Abuse Support Services Lancashire, a partnership between several specialist domestic abuse services in Lancashire.

Led by Safenet and commissioned by Lancashire County Council, we have delivered life changing, inclusive support in safe accommodation and community outreach support, to adult and child victim- survivors from all walks of life across Lancashire.

Safenet and our partners, HARV, Key, Be Free, FCWA, Loving Me, Liberty Centre have worked collaboratively to deliver a unified and safe service for all.

Each DASSL partner is experienced at delivering trauma-informed specialist support for victim-survivors, including minoritised survivors from different ethnic backgrounds, women, LGBTQ+ survivors, male victim-survivors and specific age-appropriate support for children and young people who experience domestic abuse.

In this first year, we have extended and strengthened support for survivors, establishing a new countywide support services for children; improved access to life saving services, and enhanced collaboration across Lancashire.

With improved referral pathways, survivors have accessed safe accommodation, community support and specialist services, while communities have benefited from more co-ordinated responses to domestic abuse.

As we reflect on this milestone, our commitment to building safer futures grows and ensures that no one faces abuse alone.

Rachel Wade Head of Contracts & Partnerships, said: “We would like to thank all our frontline colleagues, delivery partners, agencies and Lancashire county Council who commissioned the service for your support in making a difference and embedding the DASSL partnership successfully throughout Lancashire.”

The service is open for referrals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a dedicated referral helpline. Anyone is able to access this support.
